Words can't describe how much I cherished working at the Chicago Tribune, alongside many of my journalism heroes. I'm so lucky to have met an incredible group of people, many of whom I now consider friends. ❤️

Javonte is the only coworker who interrupted me transcribing to show me his new kicks, tell me “You don’t know about these,” and leave the office laughing.

Which is to say he’s the best and everyone in our building loves this dude.

Here's the first person in line to vote in the United Center.

She was registered to vote on the South Side, but she received mixed signals about where to vote. So, she woke up at 4 a.m., got her an iced coffee from Dunkin, and voted where she heard "any and everyone" could.

Major props to the digital team who put together a remarkable visual/digital package for this story. There's some serious talent @toledonews, and they continue to prove they're a powerful team. Here's the redlining story if you want to read it:

Pretty cool to be recognized alongside my former colleagues by Ohio SPJ. For this particular story, I examined preexisting housing discrimination practices in Toledo and its enduring impact on the city. This required a great deal of historical research and a lot of data analysis.

Thoughtful piece by @ElyssaCherney. Really explores the question of in a time of major upheaval, are the humanities more or less crucial in preparing college students for the real world?
