On the campaign trail, @KamalaHarris made it clear that we can’t treat Black and Brown lives lost to gun violence like statistics.
As vice president, we know she’ll continue to lead the fight for justice and safety.

Even when gun safety wasn’t as politically popular, @JoeBiden showed up for gun violence survivors and passed stronger gun laws.
On the campaign trail, President Biden vowed to make stopping gun violence a top priority—we’re here to help him follow through. #GunSafetyPresident
Speaking is hard for me, so I admire how persistently @TheAmandaGorman has fought to overcome a childhood speech impediment through poetry and purpose. Thank you for lighting up the nation.
This was a historic day for our country and our democracy. I’m so happy to have shared it with my husband. Mark and I think the future looks bright. #InaugurationDay
Quoted @SenMarkKelly
Stopped by the office on our way to the Inauguration, and @GabbyGiffords test drove my desk, which once belonged to Senators McCain and Goldwater. What do you know — she looks pretty good sitting behind it!
It's no space shuttle or Navy jet, but I know in many ways this is your biggest mission yet. You've made the people of Arizona so proud, @SenMarkKelly.
Replying to @staceyabrams: Amanda Gorman’s message serves as an inspiration to us all. #InaugurationDay
Now the real work begins, folks. Follow along at @POTUS as we build back better.
Congratulations, Madam Vice President.

The road ahead is undoubtedly a long and difficult one, but I’m confident that we as a nation are up for the challenge. We must choose hope over helplessness and courage over complacency. We can’t let any obstacle stop us from moving forward.
Joe Biden will restore empathy, decency, and competence to the presidency, and Kamala Harris has made history as the first woman, first Black, and first South Asian vice president.
The new administration is ready to tackle the Covid crisis that has stolen too many lives, to confront systemic racism within our imperfect democracy, and to take action to end gun violence that’s devastating our communities.
Today, with the inauguration of President @JoeBiden and Vice President @KamalaHarris, we are writing a new chapter of American history.
.@SenMarkKelly and I are honored to be in Washington D.C. watching @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris be sworn in as president and vice president of the United States. Tune in to witness this historic moment.

Today the first woman Vice President — who also becomes president of the Senate — will swear in Georgia’s first Black senator and first Jewish senator (and the youngest senator). Lots of trailblazing today.
Words have consequences—especially from elected officials.
These past few weeks have made that crystal clear.
I’m so relieved to begin a new chapter with @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris in the White House—two leaders who understand the power of their words and actions.
After I was shot, I fought to regain all that I lost—from walking to speaking to being able to serve my country.
Now, 10 years later—as we react to an attack on our democracy—I’m sharing what I’ve learned about finding the determination to move ahead.
