BREAKING: Former Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder and other ex-officials have been told they’ll be charged in the Flint water scandal, two people with knowledge of the planned prosecution tell AP. Lead-contaminated water devastated the majority Black city.
Snyder was governor when state managers switched the city’s water to the Flint River in 2014 as a cost-saving step while a pipeline was being built to Lake Huron. The water was not treated to reduce corrosion, which caused lead to leach from old pipes.
@marytangari @AP Its been happening. Most service lines have been replaced and they are on the regional water system. The problem is most homes needs their plumbing inspected, especially if they have galv. plumbing.
